The Breeder Health Guarantee for Every Puppy

What We Guarantee You

Every AKC Rottweiler Kennel breeder must sign and fulfill the following health guarantee:

  • The breeder will provide you with a health record for your puppy, outlining the vaccinations administered at the time of sale.

  • To maintain your health guarantee, you must take your new puppy to a licensed veterinarian for a health check within 10 days of purchase. If the veterinarian diagnoses your puppy with a clinical illness or confirms that the puppy died from an illness or injury likely contracted before or on the date of sale, you have the following options:

    • Return the puppy for a full refund.*

    • Return the puppy for a replacement of equal value.*

    • Keep the puppy and receive reimbursement for the cost of medical treatment to restore the puppy’s health, up to the price of the puppy.*

What To Do If You Notice Something

If your puppy experiences health issues, here’s what to do:

  • If a licensed veterinarian diagnoses a congenital or hereditary defect within 30 days of purchase that negatively affects your puppy’s health—or if your puppy dies from such a defect—you’ll have the same options listed above.

  • You must notify the seller within two business days of receiving the veterinarian’s certification, including the name, address, and phone number of the examining vet. Failure to do so will forfeit your rights under the health guarantee.

Refunds or reimbursements will be processed within 14 days of the seller receiving the veterinarian’s certification. The certification must be provided to the seller no later than five days after you receive it.

More About Our Dog Health Guarantee and Documentation

If the breeder offers a one-year genetic health guarantee, it covers all genetic defects related to your puppy’s breed. However, the genetic health guarantee does not cover communicable diseases, parasites, or injuries.

As the buyer, you are responsible for all veterinary expenses. If your puppy is diagnosed with a genetic condition, your vet must provide a letter on official letterhead confirming the condition as genetic. This letter must include the veterinarian’s contact details, as the breeder reserves the right to discuss the health condition with the vet. If the puppy is confirmed to have a genetic disorder, the breeder will reimburse you for the treatment costs (up to the price of the puppy). However, the breeder assumes no direct responsibility for any medical bills.

Our goal is to ensure both you and your puppy are happy and healthy. We are committed to providing you with the best experience possible, and our health guarantee is just one part of that promise.
